Jessica Drake Docu-Series Comes to Canada's Movie Central

TORONTO — The docu-series “Love, Jessica” has landed in Western Canada, putting a spotlight on the private life of one of the biggest stars in the adult film industry, Jessica Drake.

“Love, Jessica” is set to premiere on Movie Central Sept. 6 at midnight (MST). The show previously premiered on The Movie Network in Eastern Canada in May.

“I’m just like anyone else. We all have sex … I just do it on camera,” said Drake, who is a businesswoman and activist, in addition to her adult film work.

Drake is under contract with Wicked Pictures where she performs, writes and directs. She works closely with her significant other, Toronto-born Brad Armstrong, who also directs and performs for Wicked.

“Jessica Drake is a kind, strong person who is also professional and business savvy,” Executive Producer Richard Arnold said. “She and her partner Brad Armstrong are a power couple who challenge what people think of as typical adult performers.”

According to the producers, Drake works to have the means to fulfill her charitable side, while Armstrong works to fulfill his material side. “Together they work hard to live a life that some dream of and others loathe,” a release stated.

Despite Drake’s charitable intentions, she maintains that the stigma attached to her adult work often prevents her from being more effective. She hopes through education and open discourse, including the humanized gaze into the industry provided by “Love, Jessica,” she can help banish the negative stereotypes associated with porn.

Season one of “Love, Jessica” is comprised of ten 30-minute episodes. The show comes from the creators of “The Right Hand” at EWL Media, with a team that includes Arnold, Producer Lynnette Lanning and Director Kai Soremekun.
